I've been experiencing a really frustrating issue with my laptop for the last couple of days. It has an i9 CPU, an RTX 4090 GPU, and 32GB of RAM. Whenever I try to play 'Digimon Story: Time Stranger', the laptop restarts after just a minute or two of gameplay. Sometimes, it just closes the game instead of a full restart. I've noticed that the power usage spikes, and the GPU goes over 100% right before it crashes.
I've tried a bunch of fixes I found online like updating all my drivers, changing the game resolution, turning Vsync off, and adjusting various graphics settings. I've even checked the DirectX version and set the Nvidia app to high performance for the game. I've also toggled the DLCs on and off. But despite all these efforts, the issue remains—the moment I hit 60 FPS, my PC restarts. I'm at my wit's end and really need some advice on what else I could try to fix this!

First off, it sounds like you might want to check those crash logs, known as dump files, for any clues on what's causing these restarts. If you can boot into Windows normally or via Safe Mode, look for those files in C:WindowsMinidump. If you find any, zip them up and upload them to a file-sharing site. Sharing multiple dump files can help pinpoint the issue more accurately.
You can also set your system to create smaller memory dumps, which usually don’t overwrite previous ones. There’s a guide online that can help you configure that, so definitely check it out if you need more detailed steps!
I’d suggest keeping an eye on your CPU and GPU temperatures while you play. If they’re overheating, that could explain the sudden restarts. There are free monitoring software tools that can give you real-time readings. If temps are high, consider cleaning out dust from the fans or checking if your thermal paste needs to be reapplied.
You don't want your hardware to be pushed too hard, especially with those specs!

Got it! I’ll check on those temperatures and see if that's the culprit. Thanks for the advice!
