I started my journey in programming at 17 during the coding boom, completing a full-stack MERN apprenticeship for a year. Afterward, I faced a 5-month unemployment period due to health issues. Since then, I've spent the last two years working as a frontend developer, where I also picked up some quality assurance and backend skills through active collaboration with colleagues. My projects have given me exposure to large structures and cybersecurity, even if I don't have formal qualifications.
I recently finished my work contract two weeks ago, and while working on a small freelance project, I can't shake off the worry that my lack of a degree might hinder my job prospects. With fewer job postings these days and the doom and gloom around the tech industry, I'm uncertain how to move forward. I'm currently developing two projects to refresh my resume to reflect my updated skills.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

If you’re looking to start a side hustle, hit me up! I have some moneymaking projects in mind that could be a good fit for your skills.
You’ve got solid work experience, and that counts for a lot! Just remember, you wouldn't have been hired before if you didn't have the skills. Keep pushing forward!
I hear you! I did get that job during the boom, so I’m just worried about the current market. Thanks for the encouragement!
Consider picking up some certifications, especially in cybersecurity. They can really help validate your skills, even if your work experience is a bit short. Just something to think about!
I appreciate the suggestion! Unfortunately, the cybersec market in my country is pretty limited, but I’d love to explore that someday.
Thanks for the offer! I’d love to hear more about it.
