I recently ran a stability test on my overclocked RAM using OCCT, and while my CPU passed, the RAM failed. I even did a thorough test with Memtest and it showed multiple errors. This is a newly purchased DDR5 6400MHz CL32 RAM that I got last week, and I'm considering returning it due to these issues. The crashes in games were sudden, leading me to check the event log where I found code 1002, which suggested possible faulty memory. I know overclocking might be causing some of this instability, but I bought this RAM specifically for its advertised speed. If I return it, will they accept it as a valid reason?

Remember that XMP settings aren't always guaranteed, much like any overclock. If you want 6400MHz, you may have to learn how to properly overclock and adjust voltages. They're basically saying, 'We tested this RAM under ideal conditions, good luck with yours!'
I had a similar problem with some 6400 CL32 RAM from G.Skill that I bought on Amazon. I returned it, and the new set works like a charm. Definitely worth getting a new kit if you're having issues.

Since your CPU manages the memory, if it can't handle the 6400MHz, consider dropping it to 6000MHz for stability. Or, you could exchange it for a 6000MHz kit if it's more affordable and you're not confident adjusting speeds manually.

You might want to think about returning it since it's clearly not performing as expected. Your options would be to either stick with it and deal with random crashes, try to manually tune it, or not use the XMP profile. I'd suggest returning it if it's failing memory tests.
