I'm looking to upgrade my gaming and video editing setup since my current rig is pretty outdated—it's from 2017! I do a lot of gaming, animating, video editing, and digital drawing, and I need a modern build to handle all of this. I've been considering the AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D for its gaming capabilities and the Intel i9-14900k because of its strong performance with video editing. However, I'm also unsure about which motherboard to pair with either CPU. I already have an Nvidia 4070 SUPER and plan to invest in DDR5 memory, though I regret not buying it before prices surged. Both CPUs you mentioned are excellent picks! To give better advice, what software do you use most and what games do you play? Knowing this could help narrow down your choices. Also, the motherboard you choose should depend on your case size and the features or components you want to connect.
I mainly use Adobe products like Photoshop and Premiere Pro, plus I play a lot of newer games for my work. I'm going for a clean build, just starting from scratch with a new case and likely 32GB of DDR5 RAM.
