Hey everyone! I was trying to fix some minor issues with my PC's hard drive, but I accidentally deleted a crucial volume that contained all of my family pictures, work data, and projects. I'm concerned about recovering everything, especially my Steam games, since the entire library was stored on that deleted volume. I haven't written over the space yet, and I used TestDisk to attempt recovery but it only retrieved a few files and none of my projects or Steam files. Is it realistic to fully recover all my data, including the games, or should I just give up? Thanks for any advice!

Data recovery can be tricky, which is why professionals price their services as they do. To be honest, I’d focus more on recovering your work projects and essential files over the games. Those can usually be redownloaded later on.
As long as you haven't written anything new to the drive, there's a good chance you'll be able to recover most, if not all, of your data. Your safest bet would be to get a professional recovery service to handle it, but if you're feeling adventurous, you could try some solid DIY recovery software.

I see your point. If I really need those work projects and photos, should I just let a pro handle it? Are the projects fully recoverable in your experience?
