I've got some extra cash and I'm thinking about upgrading my setup from a 1080p 144Hz display to a 1440p ultrawide 144Hz monitor. I initially considered going for an RTX 5090, but the prices are just outrageous. I'm curious if jumping to an RTX 5080 is worthwhile. Will I see a noticeable performance improvement?

If you're aiming for 1440p ultrawide, the 5080 can usually push above 144Hz in most games, so it should serve you well! What makes you say that? I mean, even though I have a 5070, I’ve found AMD cards are great value, especially under $600, unless you really need CUDA for specific tasks or you're into heavy path-tracing.
