Why Is My Windows Activation Key Blocked After a Year?

I recently booted up my homebuilt PC and got the error code 0xC004C003. I've looked through several forums and even tried contacting Microsoft Support, but I haven't found a solution. None of the troubleshooting steps, including running it as an administrator, have worked.

I've had this PC for over a year without making any significant changes to the hardware or doing a clean install. I also keep up with regular updates, including the optional ones. Unfortunately, I don't have my product key anymore since it was used successfully over a year ago.

Has anyone else faced a similar issue? I'd really appreciate any assistance!

Are you the original buyer of the operating system? 🤔

How did you get the key originally? If it wasn't from a legitimate Microsoft source, it could be that it was either not a valid key or part of an unofficial volume license.

I'm running Windows 11 Pro, and I got it directly from Microsoft.

Have you tried calling Microsoft support about this?

From what I gathered, running `slui.exe 0x2a 0xC004C003` indicates that the key is blocked. Unfortunately, it seems like you might need to dive into your Microsoft account to retrieve a license or possibly buy a new key from a verified source.

What version of Windows are you using? And where did you buy the key from?
