What’s the Best Value DDR4 CPU for a $1400 Gaming PC?

I'm helping my cousin build a gaming PC for around $1400, but with the current prices, I can't justify spending almost $500 on 32GB DDR5 RAM. I'm thinking about going with the AMD Ryzen 5800X, which I found for about $195. Are there any other options around the $250 mark that I should consider? It will be paired with either an RTX 5070 or RX 9070 for 1440p gaming.

If you're looking for variety, the Ryzen 5 5600, 5600X, and even the 5700X are all great performers and typically have minimal differences, maybe just 2% between them. Just pick the cheapest one you find!

True! I would also throw in any Intel CPU from the 14th gen or older if you're open to those. They should give you solid performance as well.

Definitely the Ryzen 5800X! It makes a great choice for your build without breaking the bank.

The Intel Core i5-14600K is a solid alternative. Just keep in mind that prices can vary by region, so it might be worth checking out.

Yeah, I've seen it go on sale for around $160 at times, which is a great deal!
