I'm exploring Rustdesk as a potential replacement for our current remote desktop software. We utilize it in two main ways: management uses it for monitoring staff, and the IT department accesses employees' machines remotely. I've come across some discussions about its potential vulnerabilities (like those listed here: https://app.opencve.io/cve/?vendor=rustdesk). I'd love to hear from anyone who's used Rustdesk and can share their experiences. Thanks!

Don't let the CVE list freak you out too much. The real test is how the developers react to any vulnerabilities that come up. How has your experience been with reliability? I'm considering the self-hosted option myself.
One of my clients started using Rustdesk recently. You have to use the software itself to access devices unless you have a large license. Alternatively, there's a fork called rustdesk-api which others have said works well.
I installed Rustdesk on about five devices. The self-hosting setup was straightforward and it performed pretty well. Although the project didn’t expand much, I've continued using it personally.
Just a heads up, if you're supporting older PCs, be cautious as there might be compatibility issues. It's great for newer systems though!

I’ve been using it on a few devices with self-hosting and found it works well. It's a solid option for a TeamViewer alternative.
