Hey folks! I'm planning to upgrade my gaming system and would love to hear your thoughts. Here's what I currently have:
- GPU: Asus RTX 3060 OC 8GB
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600
- Motherboard: Asus B450M-K
- RAM: XPG 2x8GB DDR4
- Storage: Adata 500GB M.2 SSD
- PSU: XPG 650W
- Cooling: Liquid cooling for the CPU
Right now, my setup can handle games like Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 and GTA 5 on high settings pretty well, but I'm noticing some limitations specifically with MSFS 2020 and the upcoming MSFS 2024. Given my budget constraints and the current economic situation, a switch to a DDR5 platform isn't feasible for me. I'm considering upgrading my graphics card and my budget allows for either an RTX 5060 Ti or potentially an RTX 5070 if I stretch it a bit. I want to make sure whatever I choose will be a solid investment as I plan to transition to DDR5 later. Do you have any recommendations for the best path forward?

Have you compared the prices between the RX 9070XT and the RTX 5070? That could impact your choice a lot. Also, it’s wise to think about adding storage soon—getting an extra 1TB or 2TB could really pay off, especially since prices might rise soon.

The RX 9070 XT 16GB goes for around $750, while the RTX 5070 OC 12GB runs about $700. By the way, I'm also planning on upgrading my SSD soon, so I'm not too worried about storage right now.
