I've recently switched to a new laptop and installed Linux Mint, which I was using daily without many problems. After installing some applications like VLC and Steam, everything was working fine until my laptop went to sleep. When I tried to reconnect, the Wi-Fi was gone, and I could only get it back by rebooting. Panic set in, so I switched to Fedora 42 KDE Edition and installed the same applications and Nvidia drivers. The issue persisted; after closing the laptop overnight, the Wi-Fi wouldn't reconnect the next day unless I rebooted again. I checked with 'lsmod' and confirmed that the iwlmvm module was active. My setup includes an Intel Wifi 6 AX200 network controller. Any ideas on how to resolve this?

This is a known issue with that Wi-Fi card. The card can get stuck when waking up from sleep. My workaround is to just shut down the laptop instead of putting it to sleep; I find it boots back up in about 20 seconds anyway.
I had a similar issue, and I found a fix that worked for me. You need to modify your configuration. Run this command: 'cd ~/etc/modprobe.d/iwlwifi.conf' and then use an editor to add 'options iwlmvm power_scheme=1' to that file. Just check if your system uses mvm or dvm firmware before trying this. I had to adjust it for Fedora, since the .conf file didn’t exist there.
Are you by any chance dual booting? If your OS is set to 'turn off this device to save power', that could be causing the problem. You might want to check those settings just to be sure.
