Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my GPU to either a 1070 TI or a 1080 TI since they are pretty affordable now. I mainly play games like CS2, Faceit, and some Assetto Corsa, and I'll likely play GTA VI when it's out. Here are my PC specs:
- CPU: i5-8500
- Motherboard: Z370 Pro4
- Current GPU: RX 560 4GB
- RAM: 16GB (1x 8GB @ 2666Hz + 1x 8GB @ 3000Hz)
- PSU: LC-POWER LC8850
My key issue is that while I want to upgrade my GPU, the 1080 TI requires an 8-pin and a 6-pin connector, but my old PSU only has one 8-pin, which is currently for the CPU. I actually trust my old PSU more than some of the newer cheap options out there; I opened it up and it looks good inside. Is there any way to keep using this PSU and still upgrade to a 1080 TI? If not, could you recommend a reliable PSU that won't fail? Thanks!

Could you share a photo of your PSU? It's important to check if you have enough connectors. You might need to look for extra cables if your PSU is partially modular. Sometimes those cables are just hidden away. If you can’t find them, you can also buy new ones online fairly easily.
Upgrading to a 1080 TI might be tricky with that PSU. Unless you find a version that doesn't require extra power connectors, you're probably out of luck. You might want to consider the Intel Arc B570, which is a bit cheaper and could outshine the 1070 TI. Just double-check its compatibility with your PSU to avoid any issues!
