Audio Issues and Black Screen Flickers on New Gaming PC

I recently built a new gaming PC, and I'm facing some weird problems. Here are the specs:

- **Processor:** Ryzen 9800X3D
- **Graphics Card:** Gigabyte RTX 5080 Windforce OC
- **Motherboard:** MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk Max
- **RAM:** 32 GB Crucial DDR5 6000 MHz CL36
- **Operating System:** Windows 11
- **Monitors:**
- Main: 1080p 144 Hz (connected via DisplayPort)
- Second: 1080p 60 Hz (connected via HDMI)

I'm encountering two main issues:

1. Sometimes, voices in Discord sound stretched or distorted. This also happens with audio on certain websites (not YouTube), especially when I skip through videos, but it resolves after watching something on YouTube. Restarting the PC seems to bring the problem back.
2. While gaming on my main screen, there are instances when the screen goes black for a split second. There are no crashes or signal losses, and temperatures are normal.

I've done some digging into possible fixes but only found suggestions to turn off hardware acceleration, which didn't help. I came across a mention that this might be a known issue with the RTX 5080 but I'm skeptical since it seems odd that so many people would have these same problems. I also checked and reverted any overclocking or PBO settings back to stock, yet the issues persist.

Has anyone had a similar experience or might know what could be causing both the audio stretching and screen flickers?

I had a similar issue with my setup! It sounds like it might be related to your connection. Is only your main monitor flickering, or do both screens have issues? If you’re using an HDMI to VGA adapter or cables not rated for high refresh rates, that can cause loss of signal. Also, ensure that in your Windows audio settings, you're selecting the correct output for your speakers or headphones instead of HDMI sound outputs that might be conflicting.

I had an old adapter that lost its connection all the time. I suggest checking the cables you're using to make sure they're compatible with your monitors' resolution and refresh rates.

It could also be a driver issue with your RTX 5080. Make sure all your graphics drivers are up-to-date. Sometimes, rolling back to a previous version helps with stability. Also, keep an eye on whether the flickering happens on just one monitor or both—the answer might lie in the hardware connection you're using!

I will check the drivers! I had updated them, but rolling back seems worth a shot. Thanks for the tip!
