My PC Won’t Post: What’s Going Wrong?

I recently built a PC using an MPG B550 Gaming Plus motherboard, a Ryzen 5 5500 CPU, and a 16GB RAM stick, all of which are brand new. After my brother-in-law helped me set it up, we ran into an issue where the PC won't fully post. Initially, there was a brief moment when it powered on, but then it just went to a black screen, although the mouse was still visible. We managed to access the BIOS and even updated it, but that didn't solve the problem. I suspect it might be due to inadequate RAM, but I'm looking for any other possible reasons why this is happening.

One thing you want to check is whether you have a dedicated GPU. The Ryzen 5 5500 lacks an integrated GPU, so if you've only got the motherboard and no separate graphics card, that could definitely cause issues. Just making sure since you didn't mention it in your post!

Good point! I didn't clarify that. I actually have a Radeon RX 6700XT installed.
