What should I do about a mysterious ‘search_files’ folder in my downloads?

I found a random folder named 'search_files' in my downloads and I'm pretty sure it's not a virus. I often download adult content but I transfer everything to a USB so they're not on my PC anymore. I scanned my device and it's clean. I don't use Microsoft Edge as my main browser, but this folder contains some files that have the Edge symbol on them. When I try to open those files, they just launch Edge but display a blank page. I'm using Windows 11 and I can't delete Edge from my PC. Is it safe to delete the 'search_files' folder, or should I be concerned?

You might want to run a full scan with Windows Defender just to be sure. It can help identify any potential threats lurking around. If it finds anything, it should guide you on how to remove it. Better safe than sorry!

Yeah, it found 1 threat now—what's the next step to get rid of it?

If you're worried, it's usually fine to delete folders that look suspicious, especially if they're using space and you haven't identified them. Just make sure to back up important files and double-check everything before deletion.
