I'm planning to buy a 27" monitor and I'm trying to figure out which one would be better for watching Full HD (FHD) videos. Should I go for a 4K 27" monitor or a 2K 27" monitor? Will there be a noticeable difference in video playback quality?

When it comes to FHD video playback, there's really not much difference between the two resolutions since both 4K and 2K will scale down to display 1080p content. In fact, I've never noticed any significant quality difference while watching FHD videos on a 4K display versus a 2K one. Both should deliver a similar viewing experience for that resolution.
Honestly, going for a 4K monitor for FHD videos might not be the best idea. Since FHD is scaled down to fit the screen, you won’t really see an advantage. That said, a 4K monitor could still be fantastic for other uses like gaming or watching 4K movies!
If you're looking at it strictly for FHD videos, 2K is basically just another way to refer to 1080p, so it might suit you just fine. The real difference jumps in quality when you're working with higher-resolution content.

Have you tried watching FHD content on a 4K monitor without any AI scaling though?
