Hey everyone! I'm looking to deploy an application on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), but I come from an on-premise background and I'm not too familiar with Azure yet. The product I'm working with is built to interface with the S3 API and was initially designed for use with MinIO. Unfortunately, MinIO has had some issues recently, and now I'm trying to find a suitable alternative.
Here's the situation:
- I want to use Azure, but MinIO was great because it could act as a gateway on top of Azure Blob storage.
- I've looked into Ceph/Rook, which also supports S3 API, but I'd rather not manage the storage myself since that's not what AKS is designed for. I prefer to utilize Azure's storage solutions.
- I'm also considering options like SeaweedFS or GarageFS. However, I heard S3Gateway is lacking in comparison to MinIO.
- One of the benefits of using MinIO was its implementation of OIDC and STS, allowing me to use an OIDC token from Keycloak to obtain AccessKey and SecretKey for a smooth SSO experience. This feature is also available in Ceph.
If anyone has suggestions or projects that could help, I'd really appreciate your ideas! Thanks!

If you're looking to switch things up, explore marketplace offerings like Flexify's Azure S3 API solution. It could save you a lot of hassle!
What do you mean AKS isn’t intended for storage? It’s designed to run containers and applications, so you can still connect it to Azure’s managed services for storage.
