Can I safely use my laptop charger after it fell into water?

I accidentally dropped my laptop charger's plug into a pot of water that had some food leftover. I quickly took it out and dried it off with napkins. It's been drying for about 16 hours now, and I also cleaned the plug with alcohol and cotton. Will it be safe to use after letting it dry for 24-48 hours?

Honestly, I’d be cautious. If you're in doubt, it might be better to get a new charger. Sometimes it’s just not worth the risk.

I'd recommend blowing it out with some compressed air. It's a good way to make sure no moisture is trapped inside. And before plugging it into your laptop, try plugging it into the wall. If the indicator light on the charger comes on, that’s a good sign!

If the plug is completely dry and didn't have power going to it while it was submerged, it should be okay to use. Just to be safe, make sure to check it thoroughly before plugging it back in.
