Should I Get a New RX 9070 XT or a Used RTX 5080 with a Damaged HDMI Port?

I'm trying to decide between purchasing a new RX 9070 XT for €630 or a used RTX 5080 for €850. The seller claims it's a good deal, but there's a catch: the HDMI port is broken due to physical damage. While I mainly use DisplayPort, I'm worried that if the graphics card were to fail for any reason, my warranty might not cover it because of the existing damage. Should I take the risk on the 5080 or go for the new 9070 XT instead? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

That 5080 sounds sketchy. If the previous owner messed up like that, it makes me wonder what else could be wrong with the card. Personally, I’d lean more towards the RX 9070 XT since I’m not a fan of AMD anyway, but I understand the temptation.

Yeah, it’s a tricky situation. The 5080 deal looks appealing, but I’m really weighing the risks.

Getting the 5080 could be a solid option for the price, especially since you're fine with using DisplayPort. Just make sure all other DisplayPort connections are functioning well. Do you have a way to test it? If something doesn't work within the return window, you could send it back without much hassle.

He confirmed the other display ports work. Plus, I have 48 hours after it arrives to test everything, so I think I might give it a shot.

Go for the 5080! I once bought a GTX 1080 Ti that had a broken HDMI port, and it served me well for years. It might be a bit risky, but sometimes those deals pay off in the long run!

Honestly, I'd steer clear of the 5080. If it breaks down the line, you might find that your warranty doesn’t cover it due to the physical damage, even if the issues are unrelated. It's just not worth the gamble.

Yeah, that's a real concern. It could end up costing you more if anything else goes wrong.
