I just spoke with a new coworker who brought in his EVGA GTX 1080 FTW. I had mentioned wanting a budget GPU for my secondary PC. He offered it to me for free, but since he's in his late 60s and needs the money, I want to pay him something. What do you think is a fair price considering it's in good condition and I'm on a tight budget too? Thanks for the advice! By the way, I decided to go with $150 CAD (about $80 USD) based on your suggestions!

I'd suggest offering between $80 and $100. It's a nice gesture to give a little something for it, but the card isn’t super valuable anymore.
Geeky opinion here: while $100 feels fair, don’t forget that driver support is a thing. It could be a risk. If you want to play it safe, go with $50-$60.
Yeah, just keep in mind future usability. It’s a gamble with older tech.
Honestly, I think around $100 is a fair offer. The GTX 1080 is decent, but it’s getting a bit old. If it works well, that’s a good price to support your coworker while still keeping it reasonable for you.
I agree! It’s a solid price, especially since he was going to give it to you for free. Any amount helps him out without straining your wallet.
I recently looked on eBay, and I found similar cards going for around $80-$100. So, sticking to that range would make sense.
Honestly, I think $50 is decent, especially if you're tight on cash. It's not a huge amount and it won’t feel awkward between you two.
True, but it’s good to give him a little more than nothing. Maybe $75? That feels right.

Exactly! Especially since newer models are available now, so the 1080 isn’t worth as much.
