Why Is My WiFi Connected But Not Providing Internet Access?

I've been having an issue where my WiFi shows it's connected, but I can't access the internet. I've already reset my PC and tried various troubleshooting methods. The peculiar thing is that other devices are able to connect to the internet just fine, as I'm currently using my phone's hotspot with no issues. I really need to sort this out before Monday, so any help would be greatly appreciated!

Could you provide a bit more information? What operating system are you on? Have you tried checking your DNS settings? If you can run a command like `ping 8.8.8.8` in your command prompt and it works, your connection is probably fine. If `ping www.google.com` fails, it could be a DNS issue. That could explain why your other devices are working but your PC isn't.

I’m on Windows, and I’ve tried a lot of command prompts like netsh and even a full network reset, plus rebooting the PC.

I attempted that too, but it didn’t solve anything.

It’s important to remember that being connected to WiFi doesn’t guarantee an internet connection. It sounds like you might need to restart your modem. If that doesn't work, check for any internet outages in your area. You could use your phone for that since you mentioned your hotspot is working fine.

But he did say that other devices are connecting fine, so it seems like it’s just his PC that’s having the trouble.

Exactly! The phone's internet is perfectly fine, which means the issue is specific to his PC.
