Will My Cooler and Motherboard Handle the 9950x3D Upgrade?

I'm planning to upgrade to the 9950x3D CPU and I need advice on whether my current cooling solution and motherboard are up to the task. I have a Peerless Assassin 120 SE cooler and a Gigabyte Eagle AX ATX B650 motherboard. Will this cooler be sufficient to keep the CPU cool, and is my motherboard capable of providing enough power without causing any bottleneck?

I think your cooler will be fine for basic use, but if you're looking for peak performance, you might want to consider upgrading to an 850W power supply for better efficiency and capabilities. There are some good videos on YouTube that can help you understand the differences between your current PSU and a higher wattage one.

If you aim for top-level performance without worrying about thermal throttling, your current setup might not cut it. The cooler may struggle under heavy loads, so keep that in mind if you want optimal performance.

Your cooler should be able to handle the 9950x3D, but if you're still concerned, consider looking into some AIO coolers that fit various budget ranges. Don’t forget you’ll need to update your BIOS before installing the new CPU. That part can be a bit intimidating, so make sure to look up guides on how to do that safely.
