Why is my League of Legends client suddenly using so much RAM?

I've noticed that my League of Legends client, which usually uses about 600-800MB of RAM, is now consuming 2-2.5GB. This started happening recently and it's causing my game loading times to increase significantly. I tried running a repair on the client, but it didn't help at all. If anyone has insights on why this is happening or potential fixes, I would really appreciate it!

It sounds like you might be experiencing issues after a recent update. I've seen the client use a lot more RAM too, especially since the last patch. Check your Task Manager; you might notice several League of Legends processes running, which could be contributing to the high memory usage.

Yeah, I've had the same thing happen. It somehow seems to improve after a few games, so maybe running a custom game first could help with loading times.

Since the new season started, I've had lag issues too. My whole PC freezes when League launches, and loading times have been way off. I think there’s something up with the client itself!

Have you checked if there was a recent update to the client? Games can bog down if there's an update causing issues in the background. I’d say if loading times are going from 10 seconds to several minutes, that’s a sign of problems, likely on the game’s end. Keep an eye out for patches!

That’s frustrating! Sometimes, just loading a custom game can help clear things up for future matches. It might be a temporary fix.
