I'm concerned that my 60-year-old mom may have malware on her phone. She enjoys playing games and recently downloaded an app called "Screw Twister" that used up 16GB of data a month and kept opening Chrome tabs with alarming messages about viruses. Although she hasn't clicked on these popups, her phone has started acting oddly and the battery life seems to be decreasing. We've uninstalled the suspicious app and she's been clearing her open tabs, but I'm looking for further ways to check her phone for malware. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

You should definitely check out Malwarebytes! It's a solid app that offers free scans to detect malware and spyware. You can also look into her phone's battery health, as that might explain the sudden battery drain. It’s worth a try!
Honestly, getting her a new phone that still receives Android updates might be the best solution. That way, you can control what apps are installed. But yes, using Malwarebytes is a smart move too!
I’d love to do that, but it's tough to squeeze that into my budget right now.
I looked at the battery health too, and it showed that the deleted app was using a lot of battery!
