I have an iPhone and recently set up parental controls for my son, including screen time and payment restrictions. However, I've noticed that his in-app purchases, like those in Clash Royale, are being charged to my PayPal account instead of his Apple Cash, which he has some funds in. I'm trying to figure out how to set up his account so that his purchases use his Apple Cash balance instead of hitting my PayPal. Any help would be appreciated!

Yeah, if you want him to use his own funds, turning off purchase sharing is the way to go. Just remember, you won’t get notified of what he buys, so keep that in mind. If he turns it off, will he still have access to family subscriptions like Spotify?
It sounds like you might not be aware of how Family Sharing works. If you have purchase sharing enabled, your PayPal account will cover all purchases made by family members. To ensure your son can use his own Apple Cash, you would need to disable purchase sharing. Just keep in mind that if you do this, he won't get receipts for his purchases, and some family services like shared apps and subscriptions might not be accessible to him anymore.
