Experiencing Stuttering Issues After Upgrading to RTX 5070

I recently made the jump from an RTX 3080 to an RTX 5070, but now I'm having some frustrating stuttering problems while playing *Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora*. The game runs smoothly for a while, but then out of nowhere, I get a 30-second stretch of heavy stuttering and really low FPS, before everything snaps back to normal. This issue never occurred with my old RTX 3080. I've tried both stock settings and undervolting, and I made sure to do a clean driver install using DDU. Here are my system specs:

- Motherboard: ASRock B860 Lightning WiFi
- CPU: Intel Core Ultra 5 235
- RAM: 32 GB DDR5 7200 MHz
- GPU: RTX 5070 Gainward Python III
- PSU: 750 W (I believe this shouldn't be the problem, considering the 5070 uses less power than the 3080)
- ReBAR: enabled
- Temperatures are fine, sitting around 65-70 degrees

I've also noticed something odd: In 3DMark Steel Nomad, everything looks good, but Fire Strike shows the GPU not running at full power even though the FPS cap is off. Does anyone have any ideas on what might be causing these issues?

Did you make sure to completely remove the RTX 3080 drivers before installing the 5070 drivers? Sometimes leftover drivers can create conflicts.

I had a similar issue with *Division 2*, and it turned out to be related to overlays. Here’s what I did:
1. Disabled all overlays, including Shadowplay and Ubisoft.
2. Restarted the PC.
3. Made sure overlays were still off before testing the game.
4. Once stability was confirmed, I turned the overlays back on, and I haven’t had problems since. Best of luck!

I've got a question: what’s the VRAM usage like when the slowdowns happen? This sounds reminiscent of an old GPU I had that would run out of memory in raytraced games. If that’s the case, lowering the texture detail might help.

I don’t have a solution, but I can share my experience. I played *Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora* on ultra settings with the RTX 5070, and I didn’t face any stuttering problems. My setup does use a mix of x4 and x2 for comparison, and everything ran flawlessly for me.
