I'm experiencing a frustrating issue where my iPhone randomly goes to a black screen with a loading dial for about 10 seconds before returning to normal. This happens at least once a week. Another reason could be that your phone's storage is almost full. If your storage isn't an issue, check under Settings > Privacy & Security > Analytics and Improvements > Analytic Logs to see if 'Springboard' is listed there. If it's not showing up, that might confirm it's not a storage problem.
