I just tried installing Fedora 43 on my old computer, but now I'm stuck at the boot screen asking for a passphrase for the disk. The password I set up isn't working, and I'm not sure if there's another password I should be using or if there's something else I need to do to get past this.

It sounds like you might be dealing with disk encryption. Did you set up LUKS or any kind of disk encryption during the installation process? If that's the case, the password for disk encryption is separate from your user account password, so that's something to check.

I didn't set up LUKS or any encryption, so I'm confused about why it's asking for a passphrase.

Since you're unfamiliar with LUKS, it’s possible that the setup process defaulted to adding encryption. Just a heads up: sometimes people have issues where the disk password input doesn't match their keyboard layout. Make sure you're using the correct layout, as it might be set to US by default even if yours is different.

I kept the same keyboard layout I always use, so I don't think that's the issue. I've rebooted multiple times and still can't get past that screen.
