Is My Ryzen 5 2600x Still Usable with a Broken Pin?

I recently received my Ryzen 5 2600x, and unfortunately, one of the pins, specifically the vddio_mem_s3, broke during shipping. I found this out by checking an AM4 pin layout online. Now, I'm really worried and devastated! Can I still use this CPU on my motherboard, or am I out of luck?

From what I can tell, there are actually a bunch of vddio_mem_s3 pins on the CPU, like at least 80 of them. So if it's one of those that broke, your CPU is likely still functional. Just to note, that pin helps with powering the memory interface during sleep, so worst case, you might have issues waking from sleep mode. If that happens, just switch off sleep mode or hibernate instead!

Be very careful if you attempt to fix it! Make sure to straighten the pin without snapping it. I suggest checking out some YouTube tutorials on fixing CPU pins. If it’s broken instead of bent, though, your chances may not be great.

Yeah, I know it's broken, not bent. Just trying to figure out what to do next!

You might still get it to work, but be aware that one or more of your memory slots could be problematic.
