I'm new to Linux and have only used Pop!_OS so far. I know it recently had some updates, and I've heard mixed reviews about it since then. I'm looking for a customizable Linux distribution that's also good for gaming. Is Pop!_OS still a solid choice for someone like me, or are there other distros you would recommend for gaming?

Pop!_OS updated its desktop environment, which has caused some issues for a few users. While it's a decent gaming distro, if you're a beginner, you might face a learning curve with it. Also, maybe consider CachyOS; some say it's now leading the pack for gaming on Linux.
Honestly, if Pop!_OS fits your needs, stick with it! It has its detractors, but every distro does. As a new user, don’t let the complaints sway you too much. If it works for you, enjoy it!
I've recently switched to CachyOS and I'm loving it! It’s primarily meant for gamers and I think it’s a great option. Just be warned, it's a bit more advanced than Pop!_OS, but worth trying out if you're comfortable with that.

I agree! I set up CachyOS on my machine and it's been a game changer for me. Super smooth experience!
