I'm thinking about upgrading my CPU since I'll be away for a year. I'm curious if CPU prices are expected to rise throughout this year, or if it would be better to wait until next year for the upgrade. What do you all think?

If you're looking to upgrade, CPUs and motherboards are actually decent buys right now. It might be better to handle the upgrade sooner rather than later since RAM, GPUs, and hard drives are in a tough spot price-wise right now. If the upgrade will make a difference for you, go ahead and do it!

I don't have a specific budget; I just tend to spend money. I'm on an AM4 platform with a 5600G, and I'm in Europe.
