How can I cool down my Ryzen 7 5800XT?

I recently got a Ryzen 7 5800XT and I'm facing a temperature issue. Despite having reapplied thermal paste, my CPU is running around 91°C while playing graphics-intensive games like Arc Raiders, even with the CPU fan at full speed. I'm using an ASUS TUF B550M-PLUS motherboard, and I noticed that the 5800XT runs hotter than my previous 5600G setup. Currently, I've got two front fans bringing air in and one rear fan exhausting it. I'm looking for advice on how to lower my CPU's temperature effectively.

Have you thought about getting a decent AIO cooler? Brands like Thermalright and Montech have some affordable options that can cool your CPU much better than the stock cooler.

Just checking—did you remove the plastic cover from the bottom of your CPU cooler? If not, that could be a big issue. Otherwise, you definitely need a beefier cooling solution, like a tower cooler.

You shouldn’t be reaching those high temps unless you’re using a low-end cooler. I’ve used a cheaper Thermalright King SE and barely hit 70°C on my 5800X. Your cooling setup and case airflow are crucial, so consider tweaking those as well.

The Ryzen 5800XT does run hotter than the 5600G because it’s a more powerful chip, pulling up to 120W under load. A better cooler is your best bet—look into something like the Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 for better heat management. Also, what are your idle temps? That could help diagnose the issue further.

Right now, my CPU idles around 44-47°C.

I’m running a 5800X3D with a Peerless Assassin cooler, and I rarely see temps above 60°C even after hours of gaming. Definitely consider upgrading your cooler!

Upgrade your CPU cooler! The stock cooler isn’t enough for the 5800XT. A more powerful unit will help keep those temps in check.
