Is it worth upgrading from a Ryzen 5 2600X to a Ryzen 9 5900XT, or should I go for AM5 instead?

Hey everyone! I've got a PC running a Ryzen 5 2600X paired with a Sapphire 5500 XT and 32 GB of RAM. I'm considering an upgrade to a Ryzen 9 5900 XT and a 5060Ti with 16 GB. Do you think it's a good idea to stick with the AM4 platform for now, or should I spend almost double and switch to AM5? Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

If you don’t absolutely need 16 cores, I'd suggest looking at one of the 8-core models in the 5000 series. You might find a 5070 or 9070 with some savings. Also, what motherboard are you using?

I'm leaning towards needing more cores due to my CAD and video editing workload. I think I'm using the Gigabyte DS3H B350M motherboard.
