Hey everyone! I've been playing Fortnite lately and I've noticed that it's really heavy on my CPU, reaching about 65 degrees Celsius at max. I'm looking for tips on how to shift some of that load to my GPU instead, all while keeping the graphics looking decent. Right now, I'm playing on medium settings, but I'm open to suggestions. Here are my specs:
- CPU: Core i5 12400F
- GPU: Nvidia Geforce RTX 4070 ti
- OS: Windows 11

It sounds like your CPU might be bottlenecking your performance in Fortnite. Have you thought about upgrading it? If this is the only game where you're struggling, it could be worth looking into better CPU options down the line.
If you really want to reduce CPU load, cranking up your graphics settings could help. It might push more work onto the GPU, but just be cautious of your system's limits.
Have you tried experimenting with either DirectX 11 or 12? I found that using DX11 actually gave me better performance with lower CPU load. It might help your situation too! Just keep in mind that it can affect frame rates depending on your system configuration.
I tried DX11 but had a lot of frame drops. It was better for CPU but not with performance for me.
I'll give that a try right now!
