You might want to consider getting a USB C docking station instead. HDMI over USB A isn't commonly supported. These docking stations usually have a USB C power delivery port, so you can plug your laptop charger into it, allowing power to pass through to your laptop as if it were connected directly to the USB C port. This way, you can charge your laptop and connect HDMI devices without a hitch!
There are USB A hubs with HDMI ports that come with a power plug to ensure they have enough power. Check out a model like this one: j5create's mini dock. But be sure to verify if it includes wall power support!
You might also want to look into a USB C hub with power delivery, like the one from Belkin. You can connect your laptop charger to it, which will charge your laptop while allowing you to use HDMI and USB A ports for other devices. That could be a better option for your needs!
