Experiencing Stuttering with 4070 Super – Need Help!

I recently upgraded to a 4070 Super from my old GTX 1080, and while everything seemed fine with the installation (drivers are up to date, MSI Afterburner recognized the card, and Nvidia control panel settings haven't changed), I'm having some serious issues. When playing Chivalry 2, which used to run smoothly at 120 fps on low settings, I'm now facing extreme frame drops and stutters every few seconds, despite the GPU running much cooler and only drawing around 60W. Sometimes, the screen even freezes for a second or two. I'm wondering if anyone has any insights into what's going wrong?

First off, make sure your monitor is indeed connected to the GPU and not to the motherboard. Sometimes that can be an easy fix. If that’s all good, have you tried a clean install of the drivers? It's not absolutely necessary, but it may resolve any compatibility issues. Also, check your power settings in Windows and make sure your GPU is set to run at full bandwidth.

Yep, the monitor is plugged into the GPU. I'm still getting those frame drops despite having the same setup as before.
