I've been having issues with my laptop charger, which also works for my phone. It used to charge my laptop occasionally, but now it only works if I push it in a certain way. I found a different charger meant for my phone, but it doesn't work for the laptop – it recognized the connection once but didn't charge. What steps can I take to resolve this?

Are you using a USB-C connection? Sometimes I find lint or fluff gets stuck in the ports, which can mess with the charging. Shine a light into the port to see if there's anything in there, and you might be able to poke it out with a toothpick.
I checked my backup charger, and it's a 2m USB-C cable. It worked for a second on my laptop, but I'm guessing it’s just not powerful enough for what I need.
It sounds like the charger you got is just a basic 5V USB-C charger, which isn't enough for a laptop. You’ll want to get one that’s meant for higher wattage devices since laptops usually need more power.
I was able to get my main charger to work for a moment by fiddling with it, but it didn’t last long. Seems like it might be on its last legs.
