Why is my new PC not booting directly to Windows 11?

I recently built a new PC with my son and installed Windows 11. However, every time we power it on, we're greeted with a message that reads: "New CPU installed. FTPM/PSP NV corrupted or FTPM/PSP NV structure changed. Press Y to reset FTPM if you have BitLocker or encryption enabled; the system won't boot without a recovery key. Press N to keep the previous FTPM record and continue booting. Note that FTPM won't enable a new CPU, and you could swap back to the old CPU to recover TPM-related data." When we hit N, it boots into Windows just fine, but I'm confused as to why it doesn't boot directly to Windows. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Have you tried pressing Y when that screen pops up? It worked well for me, especially when I didn't have a crucial installation of Windows. If you haven't set everything up yet, hitting Y might be the way to go! Just a heads-up though, make sure to have your network drivers on a USB stick handy—Windows 11 will ask for them during the setup.

Thanks for the heads-up! I wasn't sure what would happen, and that screen looked a bit scary at first.

I usually just press Y if I see that message; it helps reset things automatically. If you didn't set up anything critical yet, go for it! It should boot to Windows smoother afterward.
