Why are my Google search results cluttered with irrelevant links?

I've been having a frustrating issue with Google searches lately. Whenever I search for something, like a definition or Google Translate itself, I find that the first results are often links to irrelevant sites like Amazon before I even see the actual link I need. It's becoming ridiculous! Is there a way to fix this?

It sounds like you might be dealing with some issues in how Google is serving results. Some people think that if people are struggling with searches, then there's something wrong with Google itself. Maybe try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser to see if that helps!

This might be related to your browser. If you have any extensions installed, there could be some malware messing with your searches. Consider switching to a different browser like Firefox or Brave—to see if that helps your situation.

That makes sense, but I just want a fix for my usual browser. It’s weird because everything works fine in incognito mode and on my phone! It’s only on my Mac.

You could give this a shot: after typing your search terms, look for the options that appear below the search box. If you see a category labeled "Web," try clicking that. It sometimes shows fewer sponsored links and gives you more relevant results.

I tried that, but the problem still happens for me. It’s so annoying!
