I'm considering getting a secondhand RTX 3080 10GB since the prices for new graphics cards are through the roof. I expect to see about double the performance compared to my current 3060. But I'm curious, am I missing out on any crucial technology by going back two generations?

Yes, but keep in mind that newer titles at 1440p might utilize new features that can outperform older cards. Just something to consider if you want the absolute best in tech!
Just enjoy the 3080! It should be a fantastic upgrade from your 3060. You’ll love the performance boost!
Honestly, besides frame generation, you’re not missing much. The RTX 30 series does come with DLSS 4.5, which is pretty useful for enhancing performance in games. But if frame gen isn't your thing, you should be good with the 3080!
That's great to know. I don't use frame gen anyway but DLSS is sometimes a nice to have. Thank you!

Technology like what? I don't care too much about frame gen, and remember, the older cards are significantly less expensive.
