I'm curious about the AI frame generation feature in NVIDIA's 5000 series graphics cards. I've heard mixed opinions and I'm not really a fan of AI features in general. Even though the 5000 series has better performance than the 4000s, I'm hesitant to embrace AI frame generation if it might lead to odd texture issues.
Is it possible to turn off AI frame generation on the 5000 series? If so, would the performance still be noticeably better than the 4000 series without using it? Also, are there any alternatives to NVIDIA that deliver similar performance without relying on AI-generated frames?

You don't have to use DLSS or frame generation at all! For those who prefer straight-up raw performance, these features can easily be ignored.
Both DLSS and frame generation aren't mandatory. I actually had a great experience with them in Cyberpunk 2077. My 5070 Ti looks amazing on max settings at 1440p with DLSS and frame generation. But again, you can turn them off if you prefer.
AI frame generation isn't a default setting on the 5000 series; it's just an optional tool you can use if you want. I'm currently on a 5070 Ti, and I only tried the feature once to test it out. It works well, but I don't feel the need to use it regularly since the raster performance is still solid without it.
Frame generation is just an extra feature; you can toggle it on or off in the game settings. While it helps with motion smoothing, I believe the industry would benefit from focusing on better game development practices instead of relying on these AI enhancements.
If you're worried about texture issues, most of the time, frame generation and DLSS can be turned off. But I've found that DLSS really enhances image quality compared to traditional anti-aliasing methods.
