Last summer, I let a friend sign into her iCloud account on my iPad while her phone was broken. I thought she was using her usual Apple ID, but it turns out she created a random email account just for this purpose. When I tried to sign back into my own iCloud later, I realized the iPad is asking for the password to her temporary Apple ID, which she has completely forgotten. She gave me several guesses, but none worked, and since there's no recovery option linked to her account, I'm stuck. I now can't access my own iPad at all. Has anyone dealt with a similar situation or know what Apple can do to help me?

You'll need to provide proof of purchase for your iPad and submit a support request to Apple. They'll be able to help you remove the Activation Lock. Once they do that, you can proceed to factory reset your iPad and regain access.

Thank you! Luckily, I still have the iPad box, so I think I can use that for proof!
