I'm really struggling with my brand new iPhone 16 Pro that I bought in December 2024. About a year later, in mid-December 2025, the phone suddenly started slowing down and freezing. I powered it off, but it took over an hour to turn back on. When I brought it to Verizon, they couldn't help me, so I went to Apple. They suggested a factory reset, but I didn't have a backup, so I set it up as new. Unfortunately, just a couple of weeks later, I encountered the same freezing issues. Apple ended up replacing all the hardware inside and restored it from my backup, but two weeks after that, the problems returned. In January 2026, they gave me a completely new phone, but again, I'm facing the same freezing and slowdown issues today. It seems like something is corrupt in my data, and I'm scared to download my apps again because I don't want to go through this hassle once more. I truly don't know what to do anymore. Any help would be appreciated!

If your phone works fine when restored with no backup, it probably indicates a specific data issue. That often happens when something in your data is corrupt. Maybe there's a way to pinpoint what's causing it?
This is so frustrating! Can you share a bit more? Where are you located? Are you visiting an Apple Store with a Genius Bar or just a service provider? When they replaced the hardware, what did they say was wrong? Any notes on what tests they ran?
Sure! I'm in NJ and going to a proper Apple Store. They swapped out the hardware because the only thing left to do was a hard reset, which we already did. Initially, they couldn't run diagnostics because the phone would freeze up, but they finally did today, and it said the phone is fine. Clearly, that can't be right!
It sounds like your iCloud data might be corrupted, which could be causing these repeated problems. I know Apple said it couldn't be, but I've seen similar cases where it turned out to be the issue. Give it a thought.
I did ask them about it, but they were pretty adamant that my iCloud was fine.

Are you saying something in my data is corrupt? How can we figure out what it is?
