I'm considering picking up a 5800XT for about 250 CAD, but I also need to get a new B550 motherboard. In total, I expect to spend around 400 dollars. I want to know if this is worth it, especially since I could upgrade to DDR5, but the RAM costs are insane. For reference, I currently have a Ryzen 5 3600X and a 4070 Super.

You might not actually need a new motherboard. Most boards that support a Ryzen 5 3600X should be fine for a 5800XT, unless your board is really outdated. Just check your current setup first!
The 5800XT is known to be a solid GPU. However, it really depends on your current motherboard. If it's an older model that's locked to previous BIOS versions, then you might have to look for a new one. It’s a good card for the price, but consider your full upgrade path.
