Best Upgrade Path from Ryzen 5 5600 and GTX 1080 Ti?

Hey everyone! I'm currently using a Ryzen 5 5600 with a stock cooler, 16GB of 3000MHz RAM, and a GTX 1080 Ti, powered by an 850W PSU. I'm thinking about upgrading my setup but I'm a bit torn on the best route to take. I'm considering getting a 7800 XT since I can find it for around 430 EUR. However, I'm also eyeing the Ryzen 7 5700X3D for about 210-220 EUR. I'd like to add another 16GB of RAM for roughly 30-40 EUR and invest another 30 EUR in a new CPU cooler. But I'm worried I might be putting too much into an outdated platform. On the other hand, going for the 7600X seems iffy since I mainly game at 1080p with titles that are pretty CPU-intensive. Should I stick with the AM4 5700X3D, go for the AM5 7600X, or just go all out on the 7800X3D?

Honestly, I don’t think you need to upgrade your CPU just yet. Your Ryzen 5600 can handle most newer GPUs without a hitch. If I were you, I’d focus on getting that new GPU and maybe throw in some extra RAM for a total of 36GB. Why not see how that plays out before deciding on a CPU upgrade?

That's a good point! But do you think spending nearly 200 EUR more on a non-XT 9070 is worth it?
