I'm planning to build a PC with an RTX 5070, and I'm torn between the AMD Ryzen 7 5700X3D and the Ryzen 5 7600X. What should I pick? I need some advice on which CPU would be the best fit for my build and future upgrades.

There's really no reason to choose AM4 for a new build nowadays. Go with AM5, and you'll really enjoy the flexibility for upgrading later on, like moving to a 9800X3D when you’re ready.
Definitely go for AM5, especially for a new build. The Ryzen 5 7600X is a solid choice if you're looking for future-proofing. It allows for upgrades down the line without the need for a new motherboard if you decide to switch to an X3D CPU later on.
Honestly, both CPUs perform similarly and are priced around the same. The 5700X3D is excellent for AM4, but if you're building new, the 7600X makes a lot more sense for future upgrades and optimal performance with an RTX 5070.
I’d recommend the 7600X as well! Not only does it pair well with the RTX 5070, but it also sets you up for better upgrade paths in the future without having to replace your motherboard.
If you already have an AM4 board and DDR4, the 5700X3D is a great CPU. But for a fresh setup, it’s wise to invest in AM5 like the 7600X, because you’ll enjoy better long-term options.
