I'm looking to either buy or build my next gaming PC, aiming for something that can outperform my current ASUS TUF A15 with a 2060 graphics card. I also want the ability to run a small LLM locally if possible.
Here's what I'm planning so far:
**CPU:** AMD Ryzen 5 7500F (6C/12T, AM5)
**Motherboard:** Gigabyte B650 EAGLE AX (AM5, DDR5, WiFi 6E)
**GPU:** GeForce RTX 5060 8GB
**RAM:** Crucial Pro 32GB (2x16GB) DDR5-6000
**SSD:** WD Black SN770 1TB NVMe PCIe 4.0
**PSU:** Corsair RM750x SHIFT, 750W, 80+ Gold, ATX 3.1, fully modular
**Case:** Corsair 3000D Airflow
**CPU Cooler:** Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 SE
I believe this setup should work, but I'm seeking advice to confirm if everything's compatible and if I've overlooked anything. Also, what kind of challenges can I expect with this build? I built a PC from parts about 10 years ago, but this would be my first time assembling from scratch. Thanks for any guidance!

Your build looks solid and should definitely outperform your current setup. The RTX 5060 is a great choice for 1440p gaming, and the Ryzen 7500F should handle most games well, although it might struggle a bit with CPU-intensive titles in the future. For your local LLM needs, 32GB of RAM is plenty, and 8GB of VRAM should suffice for smaller models. Just keep an eye on the PSU cables to ensure they're ATX 3.1 compatible for future upgrades. Overall, if you managed to assemble a PC a decade ago, this will feel much easier!
I suggest considering the 16GB version of the RTX 5060 or even the 9060 XT for better future-proofing, especially for gaming. You could also look into getting a used 3080, which offers 15% more performance than an overclocked 5060 Ti and is a good alternative if you find one at a reasonable price. Also, think about upgrading to a larger NVMe for storage if your budget allows. Other than that, the rest of your components look good!
