I'm looking to build a gaming rig with an RTX 5070 Ti paired with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D. I want to go for an all-ASUS build but I've heard reports of some ASUS motherboards having compatibility issues with the 9800X3D CPU. Can anyone suggest a good motherboard for this setup?

Asus boards are great, but using the 9800X3D is a bit of a gamble, regardless of the brand. It seems the failure rates are much higher with Asrock compared to other brands.
Honestly, all motherboard brands have had their share of issues with the 9800X3D, so it feels a bit like taking a chance. If you're open to spending a bit more, go for a reliable option rather than the cheapest. Some boards, especially from Asrock, seem to have higher failure rates than others.
It looks like the main issues are with the X870 boards from ASUS and Asrock. If you're considering ASUS, the B650 or B850 TUF Gaming boards are excellent choices. The MSI Tomahawk is also a solid alternative!
I’m using an ASUS B650 TUF Gaming WiFi myself, and it’s working great with the 9800X3D and 5070 Ti. I have it undervolted and it runs perfectly. If you're not set on Wi-Fi, the latest tech like Wi-Fi 7 motherboards are worth considering, but honestly, PCIe 5.0 isn’t something we need right now.
I've been building PCs since the 90s, and I've always had good luck with MSI boards. They're solid and reliable without unnecessary fluff. Definitely worth checking out!

Thanks for the tip, I'll look into those boards!
