Upgrading from i5 9400F: What Should I Consider?

Hey everyone! I'm currently using an i5 9400F with a B360M motherboard, along with 32GB of DDR4 RAM and an RTX 3060. My work doesn't require much beyond Photoshop, so I primarily game for fun. I enjoy playing Battlefield 6, some RTS games, and Flight Simulator. I'm thinking about making my first switch to AMD, as I've always stuck with Intel and Nvidia, but I've heard great things about AMD, plus they often have better pricing. I'm considering the Ryzen 7 7700X or something similar, but I'm not too familiar with AMD processors. Also, since RAM prices are high, I plan to stick with my Corsair 32GB kit for now. I plan on upgrading my GPU later in the year to something like the 5070, but I realize my current CPU is the bottleneck. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated! Just to note, I'm using NVMe too.

I’d recommend getting a B760 or Z790 DDR4 motherboard. You could pair that with an i7-14700 and keep using your current DDR4 RAM. It can save you some cash since RAM prices are through the roof lately!

True, I just found out that I can't use DDR4 with the AM5 platform. I'm really new to AMD, except for back in the day with my old Radeon 5970.
