What Should I Upgrade Next for My PC?

Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my PC, but I'm a bit unsure about where to start. My current setup includes a Ryzen 7 3700X, a Radeon RX 7700 XT, 24 GB of RAM, and 2 TB of storage. I've been noticing my PC struggles significantly on startup and when I try to run multiple applications at once. Any advice on what I should look into upgrading?

First off, check what kind of storage you've got. If that 2 TB is anything other than NVMe, I'd say definitely upgrade it! Also, it sounds like your RAM is a bit mismatched with that 16 GB stick alongside two 4 GB sticks—consider getting another 16 GB stick to pair them up better.

Just to clarify, I do have NVMe storage, and yeah, my RAM setup is unusual with those mixed sizes.

Honestly, for a big performance boost, I’d suggest going for a new motherboard with AM5 support, a Ryzen 9 5950X, and bumping your RAM up to 32 GB. But that’s a hefty investment. If you're looking for a budget-friendly option, maybe just swap out those two 4GB sticks for another 16GB one—should help a lot.

Are you running a lot of applications at once? Your setup sounds decent! But yeah, paraing the RAM sticks is a good idea. And if you're tightening your budget, just replace the two smaller sticks with another 16 GB for a total of 32 GB and see how that goes before going for other big changes.
